From December 6-10, 2021 the Maryland General Assembly gathered to pass new Congressional maps as a result of the 2020 Census. Every ten years the Census show us where population growth has occurred and as a result our federal, state, and local district lines must be redrawn and modified to account for that growth. Just over 771,000 people must be in each Congressional District. In District 27B, Congressman Steny Hoyer remains our U.S. Representative in the 5th Congressional district after we voted on new maps to account for regional growth.
