Scholarships

Thank you for your interest in an academic scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year! This scholarship is intended to assist Prince George's and Calvert County students in furthering their education and pursuing their career goals. Del. Jones strongly encourages students who will be first-generation college students and/or those who will pursue a certificate or licensure as part of a technical education to apply.

In order to apply, you must be a resident of District 27B. If you are unsure whether you live in District 27B, you may confirm by using the Lookup option on the Maryland General Assembly's website link here: Confirm which district you live in here: http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Members/District.

 

You may apply as either a full-time or part-time student, however, you must be taking at least 6 credits per semester to qualify as a part-time student under Md. Code, Educ. § 18-504. If you have applied for this scholarship in the past, you may apply again as long as you remain a qualified student.

In addition to the application, Del. Jones requests a resume, a copy of your most recent official or unofficial transcript, and a personal statement. In this personal statement, Delegate Jones and her scholarship committee would like to learn more about the educational goals and ambitions of each applicant. This statement will ideally describe how the scholarship will help you achieve your goals, and should be kept under 300 words. Letters of recommendation are also recommended, but not required.
